How to Improve Hair Health With Apple Cider Vinegar

I’ve found a ton of uses for apple cider vinegar, ranging from an efficient skin tag remover, a hair health treatment, a natural way to treat burns, and the perfect natural facial cleaner you can make in your own home.

But there is still one application that still boggles my mind, especially because apple cider vinegar has such a distinctive smell.

Did you know apple cider vinegar is the perfect addition to your relaxing hair care ritual?

Apple cider vinegar is an ideal natural hair cleanser because it helps keeps your hair healthy, gives it a healthy glow, can significantly reduce hair loss, and increase your hair’s volume.

Additionally, if you or anyone in your family is suffering from a persistent case of dandruff, it’s the perfect alternative to any chemical treatment that might be hazardous for the environment or cause unintended side effects.

How? Apple cider vinegar can help you control dandruff outbreaks or its cause (itchy scalp) by being a natural destroyer of bacteria or fungi that may threaten your scalp’s health.

Why is apple cider the perfect companion to improve hair health?

Because it has healthy natural dose of alpha-hydroxy acid. This key component is vital to help naturally cleanse the gradual build up from the other styling hair care products you have at your disposal, which help improve your hair health.

By preventing this residual build up, your hair will naturally obtain a beautiful luster and, more importantly, you will be able to get the ideal pH balance to help promote healthy hair and scalp growth.

It also has wonderful preventative properties because it improves the blood circulation in your small blood capillaries that are located right underneath your skin.

More importantly, it can be a particularly effective as antiseptic shampoo because of its antifungal, antibacterial, and anti-yeast properties. This makes it the perfect tool to prevent any possible scalp infections.

Finally, by applying apple cider vinegar to treat hair follicles clogged by bacteria (which cause the appearance of crusty scalp flakes) you can help mitigate natural hair loss.

Now that we’ve seen how wonderful apple cider vinegar is, what’s the best way to take full advantage of it without stinking like it?

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Care Formula

Most people will recommend mixing one part apple cider vinegar with one part warm water. However, since not all hair is identical, I have a couple of alterations to make according to your hair type.

If you already have thick and long hair, stay with the one to one ratio.

If you have fine short hair, try altering the ratio to one part apple cider vinegar to four parts warm water. This ratio is also really effective if you regularly straighten your hair with chemicals.

If you have really thick, curly, and wavy hair, I recommend changing it to one part apple cider vinegar to three parts warm water.

Finally, and most importantly, I recommend adding a hint of your favorite scent to your concoction. This helps significantly reduce the smell of apple cider vinegar.

Simply apply this when you’re finished shampooing, a spray bottle works best. Rinse with water. When drying make sure you don’t wrap your hair in a towel, it needs to breathe so the vinegar smell doesn’t linger

I recommend doing this treatment once a month for a healthy scalp.
